Getting to Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is just 30 minutes by air from Adelaide.

OR

Three hours by coach / ferry from Adelaide.

As part of our service we offer you a choice of transportation.

Important Information:

Kangaroo Island Odysseys offers you the choice of adding transportation to your touring package. If you decide to book your transportation with Kangaroo Island Odysseys, please note that we include transfers to and from Adelaide city hotels and Glenelg to the airport (limousine transfer) or ferry terminal (coach transfer operated by Sealink).

Return Air and Ferry fares from Adelaide - Valid 1 April 2008 until 31 March 2009

  • Return Flights (Air/Air) A$380 p/person, (A$304 for children under 11years).
  • Return Ferry (Ferry/Ferry) A$210 p/person, (A$168 for children under 11 years).
  • One way Flight and One way Ferry (Air/Ferry or vice versa) A$295 p/person, (A$236 for children under 11 years).

Note: All prices quote are in Australian dollars (AUD).

 

FLIGHTS:

Our preferred airline partner is REX (Regional Airlines).

We have adopted the electronic ticket system. No paper is required, you will need only photo-ID to prove your identity and to check in.

Only smaller aircraft are used to commute to Kangaroo Island (34-seater Saab 340B - twin engine). REX has a max. of 15 kg per person luggage allowance.

If you would like to take extra luggage with you, REX has a charge per kg for extra luggage.

REX offers the possibility to store excess luggage at the airport (only if you fly back to Adelaide with REX) at a small fee.

KI Odysseys touring ties in with flight ZL4753 09.25 hrs ex ADL, arriving on KI at 10.00 hrs. In the afternoon, returning to Adelaide, we normally use ZL 4772 18.30 ex KI, arriving ADL at 19.05 hrs.

 

FERRY:

Our preferred partner is Kangaroo Island Sealink

You will only need photo-ID to check in.

Morning pick up at ADL hotels will commence at 6.00 hrs. Departing ADL at 6.45 hrs, you will be transferred to Cape Jervis (= Ferry Terminal) for your 9.00 hrs ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island which will take approx. 45 min.

If you return to ADL via Ferry and coach, your ferry leaves Penneshaw at 19.30 hrs and your coach leaves Cape Jervis at 20.30 hrs. You will arrive in Adelaide at approx. 22.30 hrs

This mode of transport is not recommended for smaller children.
